“Wait on a QB”

Why do fantasy footballers take a QB in the first round of a standard scoring league? It makes no sense to me…Wait on a QB. There is more depth at that position than any other. If you are interested in fantasy football, listen to this segment. Comments appreciated

  1. would you go with a few new wide receivers or would you stick to the tested guys. what about golden tate or michael crabtree reggie wayne or donald driver and john carlson or antoniio gates

  2. Johnny says:

I usually go with the tested guys for the first 8 to 10 rounds. Guys like Golden Tate will be late-round fliers this season. I like Crabtree a lot, but from the 8th round and beyond, not gonna’ reach for him.

Obviously guys like Reggie Wayne are money, and will be drafted no later than the middle of the third round and in most cases much higher. Donald Driver is what he is, and that’s been one of the most steady WRs in the fantasy system for the last decade. With Aarond Rodgers at QB, expect another 1,000 YD 6 to 9 TD season for him, a solid pick around the 6th round and beyone.

Wait on a TE! Read Kevin Michaels’ article on the TE position on this site- it will tell you all you need to know. Let someone else draft Gates and Clark. The TE position is amazingly deep this season. If you were the last owner to draft a TE in your league, you’d still get a decent one. Do that! If you like John Carlson, that’s fine- I do, too. But make sure you draft an established TE before drafting Carlson. Take him in the 3rd to last round, right before you draft your defense and K.

Oh yeah, DO NOT draft a K or a Def until the last 2 rounds. Trust me, Wiley
